Car Care Tips on Washing Your Engine
While the engine is cooling down you will want to cover the openings on the motor that you do not want to get water in. These include the air intake/ air filter, the distributor, the coil and the oil dip stick/breather. You can use baggies and rubber bands to cover the openings. You also want to check the tightness of the oil filter cap, power steering cap, windshield washer fluid cap, battery filler caps and all other caps.
Now that you have the engine warm and everything is sealed you then spray the engine and engine compartment with a high quality non petroleum based degreaser. You should start at the bottom and work up, that way you won't be getting your face covered with degreaser.
Allow the degreaser to set for about three to five minutes and then use a 100% cotton towel or a soft brush to start removing the heavily soiled areas. You then re-spray and re-brush any areas that need additional cleaning. Once the entire engine and engine compartment have been cleaned you rinse it thoroughly with water. You don't have to use a high pressure sprayer a gentle spray will work just as well and you won't have to worry about getting water in sensitive spots.
Once the engine compartment is clean you can remove the plastic bags and rubber bands. You then dry any puddles and aluminum parts with a soft towel. Use paper towels to thoroughly dry the battery. You now start the engine and allow it to warm up. This will dry the rest of the engine and will evaporate any moisture that has collected.
Once everything is dry and completely cooled you should wax the painted areas of the engine compartment, but not the engine. If the undercoated aluminum areas are dull or have whitish corrosion you can use a mild metal polish to help restore the finish. At this time you should check the battery terminals to make sure they are clean. If they are not clean you can disconnect the cables and clean both the cable terminals and the battery posts with a wire brush.
Then you should check all hinges, throttle cables and shocks to see if they need a thin coating of non silicone lubricant. Then check all fluid levels and remove any stray baggies and you have completed cleaning your engine.

Letting Your Engine Idle and Why It's Bad
When you let your engine run, you are wasting gas. A few years ago, a couple of friends and I were sitting in my car on a cold night and I had the engine running so that we wouldn't be sitting there freezing. The weather was cold, and by allowing my engine to run while I was in the parked position, I was still able to run the heat in my car (which was the whole point because this was during the winter time). Suddenly, I remember one of my friends telling me that I shouldn't really run my car like that because it was "bad for my car."
There are many people who speculate that allowing your engine to idle is bad for your car, though it is up in the air for debate. When your car is idle, it is going 0 mpg. You aren't moving; you are simply burning fuel. When you are sitting at idle for long periods of time, it can actually do bad things for your car. Keep in mind that vehicles were designed to move, not to just sit and run. Often you might hear people say that turning off you car at idle won't actually save any gas. But with fuel injection technology, if you are going to have your car idling for more than 10 seconds, you will save fuel by turning it off. Depending on where you live, you might notice that someone is stopped at a light and their car is apparently inoperable. However, just before the light turns green, you'll suddenly hear them turning the ignition to put the car into 'drive' again.
Again, this is not recommended if you live in a high-traffic area such as New York or Atlanta.
When I was in the police department, during the summer when we were out on long calls- often we would leave the engines running in the event that we needed to get out to get to another call in a hurry. When this was the case, sometimes we would prop open the hoods on our police cruisers. We would do this because when you leave your car running, the engine is running. As a result of the engine running in hot weather, it is extremely easy for the engine to overheat.
Therefore, when you open the hood up, it allows more air to get in so that the engine stays a little cooler. Again, this is not recommended for regular people. If you know that you are going to be somewhere for longer than 10 minutes, then it is best to turn off your engine. If you leave your car running, your engine will eventually overheat and will stop running anyway!

Understanding Your Car's Engine Control Unit (ECU)
The main process based job of an engine control unit (ECU) is to control the various features of an internal combustion engine's operation. Earlier, the ECU that was fitted in most of the cars and had their engine parameters fixed. Also, the carburetor would determine the required quantity of fuel per cylinder/per engine cycle. In other words, the simple version of the ECU'S would control only the quantity of fuel injected into each cylinder, at each engine cycle. The advanced types of engine control unit (ECU), which are fitted on most modern cars, are capable of controlling the ignition timing, variable value timing (VVT) and other peripherals.
The ECU'S (Engine control unit) monitors the engine by using sensors so that it can gather information about the cars quantity of fuel, ignition timing and other such parameters. The ECU works according to the input data that it gets from the various sensors that are located within the engine. The various types of sensors that are fitted all over the engine are MAP sensor, throttle position sensor, air temperature sensor, oxygen sensor and many more. The sensors incorporated within the engine, are basically used to determine the various "operating states of the engine and its performance. These sensors monitor's various aspects such as the ambient air temperature, engine/coolant temperature, exhaust /main fold temp, exhaust O2 content, throttle position, the rpm of the engine, the vehicle road speed and crankshaft position. The ECU (Engine Control Unit) uses the closed -loop control method, where it monitors the output of a system in order to control the inputs to a system. Since, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) gathers data from various different sensors, it knows all about the coolant temperature to the amount of oxygen in the exhaust. On the basis of this available data, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) starts performing huge calculations every second. On the bases of the programmed interpretation of all the available input data, the ECU ( Engine Control Unit) will deliver the required commands to the engine's fuel intake and spark ignition timings system and thus help in bringing out a satisfactory performance of the car's engine.

Buy a Used Engine Or a New Car?
If you have a very good budget and you are willing so spend it on your own life and comfort ability then instead of keeping the money in the bank or waste it in something else always go for a new car. At this point obviously you don't want to by a used engine because you can afford a complete brand new car. The advantage of a brand new car is that it is company fitted and you get free repair for 1 or 2 years and 2 year warranty of each auto part. You can visit the factory outlet of the company and keep your car tuned with regular tuning. New cars also give you the feeling that you are really in a new car like the new body, new interior and shining exterior. But it doesn't mean that if your budget is $5k and you go and buy a car of $10k. This will be plain mistake. If that is the case then go for a used engine.
Used engines are very beneficial in many cases. The first case is that if you want to buy the latest model of a car like model 2010 which isn't available in the market for next one or 2 years. Then why go and buy a new car and then when the 2010 model comes out you will be out of budget. Till that time you should replace the engine of your car with some good used engine and wait for the new car model to come out. Another big issue which is faced by almost everyone in this world is the tight budget. Everyone has to grow a family and fulfill the house needs. At this point there is no need to buy a new car of thousands of dollars and spend the rest of year in total tight budget and uncomfortably. Just get a new used engine for your current car and whenever you face any problem just go to the nearest mechanic and get your car fixed. Like this you will be able to fulfill every need of your family.
So the conclusion of everything is that buy a new car if you have a good budget otherwise just replace your car engine with some used engine available in market in a good condition.
You can get some idea about Used Engines from authors website.

Optimized Car Engines - A V6 That Performs Like a V8 and Curbs Pollution
Not that a six cylinder engine is worse than an eight cylinder, but if you're a power addict, a V6 might be a dampener. But not any longer! A new technology is in the market that has been designed to combine the feeling of power with fuel efficiency-a light weight six cylinder engine performing like an eight cylinder and simultaneously downsizing on the usage of gas.
Wondering how does that works? This new engine combines turbo charging, direct fuel injection and variable timing in the valves that control fuel and exhaust flow to make this a reality. In other words, the engine uses the turbo charging to let more air flow to the fuel burning chamber.
The variable valve then times it accordingly to flush out the exhaust gas completely from the fuel chamber after combustion has occurred. And finally the direct fuel injector ensures that any knocking issues are taken care of. And less fuel consumed would result in considerably lower emission of carbon monoxide, which means relatively less pollution.
Do not mistake for a tamed version of an eight cylinder done in a hotchpotch manner. It is a known fact that supercharging a six or for that matter even a four cylinder engine to the power levels of an eight cylinder engine would only add more to the existing complexity of the design of the engine and would weigh bulkier than needed. Thankfully, this new hybrid technology has been designed in such a way that it maintains the light weight of a V6 and yet manages to perform powerfully.
What is essentially going to be a matter of debate here is why go for a V8's power when a V6 or a V4 is equally manageable and meets the needs of the masses. Unless one likes the adrenalin rush of driving a powerful brute, a V8 is not something what one would buy, besides the fact that a V8 is expensive than a four or a six.
But with rising fuel prices and the threat of over pollution looming large (oh yes, the US is the highest global emitter of the greenhouse gases and that includes automobile emissions), alternative fuels and hybrid engines become the need of the hour.
This new technology introduced by motor giant Ford, has its eyes more on being fuel efficient than matching any performance levels. That it does, is just an added plus point of this engine. The slightly expensive price tag may make this multi displacement systems may not go down too well with many.
What may work to its advantage is the fact that it eliminates the gas guzzler effect of a V8 but gives a similar performance and yet retains the compactness of a six cylinder.

How a Car Engine Works
The car engines use four stroke combustion cycles, namely intake, compression, combustion and exhaust. These four steps are repeated in quick succession to generate power necessary for operation of a car and these four steps take part inside the car's engine.
Imagine a windmill, this will give you a better idea about the car engine, its arms move with the force of wind and as they move they generate energy which is then used to move the heavy grinding stones or to produce energy.
The engine of car operates on the same principle but in winds place, it uses small controlled explosions to move the pistons of the engine and when the engine runs out of energy from the explosion another explosion takes place, this forces the piston to move again and this process goes on until needed.
A small metal rod attached to a connecting rod via a crankshaft is called a piston. When the engine is going through an intake cycle the piston moves down when intake valves open, to start the process. This gives chance to air and a small amount of gas to enter into the engine.
In the next cycle namely compression cycle opposite motion of piston occurs and this thins out the air and reduces the fuel. This helps in explosion as smaller the space will be, stronger the explosion will be. To ensure no energy is lost, an airtight seal on this space is held strongly.
When the cycle is on peak the spark plug comes into action releasing a spark that explodes the gasoline. This takes the piston down again and if there is a mismatch in the time the explosion fails to take place.
The exhaust valve comes into action at the trough of the stroke to ensure no residues from waste gas are left inside the engine. At the base of the stroke, an exhaust valve unlocks so that the waste gas from the explosion can go away from the engine. The gas moves down with recurring explosions to the catalytic converter and muffler. The exhaust leaves the car through a tailpipe and air is filtered from the large pollutants before the process.
The speed of car depends on the speed of this cycle and its repetition, the piston moves faster when the driver injects large amounts of gas into the engine and this helps in the increased speed of cycle and hence faster speed of the car.
The central role is given to the spark plug that starts the explosion. The designs of spark plug have been improved over time. It is very important because the speed of car directly depends on the speed of spark issues by the spark plug.
This is how a car engine works. It is expected that you'll like the information in this article.

Getting Started on eBay Motors As a Part Time Car Dealer
What keeps most people away from selling motor vehicles is the lack of information. You may be wondering how you could sell a motor vehicle without:
A dealer license
A car lot
Advanced knowledge of motor vehicles
Access to dealer auctions
While having any of the above would certainly be beneficial for expansion, you have everything you need to begin selling on eBay Motors right now!
Like any other product, the best way to learn about it is to do your research. You won't need to go very far... eBay Motors is one of the best places to learn before you earn.
It is always more comforting to start with a product you have some experience with - how about your own car? You may own a car now or in the past that has been a great experience for you. Maybe it was ultra reliable, great on gas or just an all around pleasure to drive. What a great place to start!
Like any other eBay product, you can review the closed auctions to see how this particular model has been selling and at what prices. Also be sure to notice the number of bids and page views to the auctions where available. This will give you an idea as to the general popularity of this particular vehicle.
Of course the most important piece of information here is the final bid. Do your best to gather results from several winning auctions to get a good idea of the average selling price for this year, make and model.
OK, so now you know what you could expect to get when selling this car... But where do you buy one that you can sell for a profit?
There are so many sources for low priced used vehicles, most of them are right under your nose!
One of the best places to look is the classifieds section of your local newspaper. Armed with some real market values for these vehicles, you can now spot a bargain in no time!
Don't be afraid to make some phone calls and be sure to find out why he/she is selling the vehicle. You can do some basic screening over the phone, but the best test is actually taking the car out for a drive. Once you spot a bargain, be sure to take it for a drive. I highly suggest bringing along someone with advanced car knowledge, maybe a friend or family member, to help assess the vehicle inside and out.
If everything looks OK, make an offer! Like real estate, you can never assume what a seller will or will not accept. You are looking to make a profit, and you can never get emotionally involved in any such purchase. If you are able to make a cash offer, by all means do so! Even if they don't accept your offer, leave your name and number, and you will be surprised how often you will get that call back within a few days.
Once you buy the car, spend some time washing and detailing the vehicle. Like any other item you sell on eBay, the photos will do the selling for you. Make sure you take as many photos as you can, inside and out. Don't avoid the flaws, highlight them - this builds your credibility with the customer.
Remember, you do not need a dealer license to resell a vehicle you purchased. This is titled in your name and you are free to do with it as you wish. Every state has laws that dictate how many cars can be bought and sold per year before you are considered a car dealer. That's fine, because one you get good at it, you will WANT to become a dealer!
Here are a few other great sources for your first car to sell on eBay Motors: - Bank Repossession Auctions - Friend or family member (great consignment opportunity!) - Cars with FOR SALE sign on the side of the road
There is no shortage of vehicles to sell once you "tune in" to them.
Happy Hunting!

Ford Focus - Ireland's Top Selling Car
Why Focus?
It is a small family car which has been prised for quality, reliability, comfort and lively driver responsiveness. Since its launch in 1998 the car has won over 60 awards all over the world. It was given 13 Car of the Year awards and was also chosen as the best is some more specific categories (e.g. "The best family car", "Green Car of the year" for Ford Focus ECOnetic). Interesting design, comparatively low cost repairs, fuel efficiency has made it a leader in its class.
New Ford Focus Rallye Sport
For more demanding customers there is a new Ford Focus Rallye Sport: low-volume high-performance version of the car. The new RS had its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Now it is already available in Ireland and UK. It can go 0-100km/h (0-62 mph) in 5.9 seconds and has a top speed of 263 km/h (163 mph). It is also an efficient car, as it needs 9.4 litres per 100km (30.0 miles per gallon) and has an average CO2 rating of 225 grams per kilometre. As the manufacturer claims "you'll either love it ...or really, really love it".
Ford Focus in times of crisis
Focus seems to be a perfect car even in times of crisis, as it is offered at a competitive price and prides itself in low operating costs (fuel, insurance, maintenance and repairs are relatively cheap). Due to high interest in the car, the Ford's engineers still give a lot of interest to the vehicle and each year there are some improvements introduced to attract even more buyers. According to the Society of the Irish Motor Industry, Ford Focus is still Ireland's favourite car - in the first three months of 2009 it was again the most popular vehicle.

How To Sell Your Car On EBay
1. Provide the best description of the product.
2. Taking and displaying the most attractive colored pictures.
3. Giving the best price based on market price (take off 5% for every year you have used the product).
How many of you have ever thought of selling your CAR on eBay? You are probably thinking: No way! Who will buy a car they cannot test drive and view? You'll be surprised! By hiring a professional online car agent, you actually have a better chance of selling based on the following criteria-
Free Advertising on their Website
Your listing will be displayed in a thumbnail image with a description based on the information provided by the seller. Sellers are encouraged to include a mobile phone no. and include a country code if outside the host country of the agent's.
Professional Written Description
Ebay is about buying and selling without actually seeing the item. A description must be detailed and enticing. The text must also be easy to read and understand.
Good Quality Pictures
A well written description with a crappy picture is the same as going for an interview for an executive level position wearing jeans and a tee. First impression is crucial for the interviewer to assess within 5 seconds of entry. With eBay, a great picture is even more crucial as the buyer will assess based on what they see online. No chance to see, hear or even smell the car of their interest. If it is not impressive, the next car is just a click away.
You can now advertise in a classified advertising section if you don't want to auction off your car. A professional agent who specializes in selling cars on eBay will write an effective description for the best possible chance of sales.
Compare as many online agents as you can get your mouse to click on to compare services, fees, terms and conditions and how well they rate in google search as this will determine their credibility and popularity.
You should also invest in a book on selling on eBay as this is a wonderful business platform, whether you are a novice or business professional.
I have personally met people who have used the service of online agents to sell their cars or motorcycles on eBay so easily that they have made it a side income by selling brand new vehicles that they personally buy and sell it at 10-20% off market price and still make 30-40% profit! Now, these are not professional car salesmen.
They are professional accountants, lawyers, designers, internet marketers, just from every walk of life. It's just a matter of studying the opportunities available offline and online and comparing the best offers and whether it applies to your region. There are many tips on how to buy vehicles, even luxury cars like Lamborghinis, for 40-50% lower than the market price if you know how to find them.
This is a viable business which anyone with a good credit history can venture into and you don't have to be car expert to get in. Just invest in a little time to find out what is the hottest selling car in the market right today and compare the prices of brand new cars before learning the tricks of buying cheap from your selected dealers . Do your homework and you can make a living just by selling cars on eBay!

Find Professional Truck Driving Schools With These 5 Suggestions
Use this list and you will certainly find truck driving schools that are high quality. The path to finding a top notch school can be a tricky one to navigate. Many sad stories about trucking schools that have broken laws and are now closed, or in danger of closing have been echoed recently in many news papers. Many of these schools could have been avoided if these suggestions were considered.
1. Finding Truck Driving Schools on the World Wide Web
These can be found using a search engine like Bing, Google or Ask.com. The search results you get will tell you something. If you feel like you have reached an actual school, then your looking good. You'll notice very little advertisements on the home page. If you get the feeling like you have reached a web site that was set up to advertise for the benefit of many other schools, then your probably right. Your dealing with an advertiser. Not someone that is going to train you. A little more attention to detail is needed. You should be watching out for yourself on these types of site. Ultimately, they are at the top of the rankings for good reason so you may still find a quality truck driving school here.
2. How About the Yellow Pages.
This can be a great way to find a truck driving school. You can even search the yellow pages on the internet. The nice thing here is that the companies listed in the yellow pages have to pay for their ad space. That will usually rule out the fly by night operations.
3. Find Trucking Magazines and Other Printed Media Publications.
Like the yellow pages, schools that advertise in magazines have paid for advertising space. This again rules out the fly by night operations. Also, the advertising terms can be shorter, so the chance of seeing a printed ad and then finding out the company has closed up shop is unlikely.
4. Advertisements or Training Truck Logo's
Almost all truck driving schools will put signs on their training equipment. Also, you can watch the training process in action. This is also an absolutely excellent way to spot a few things about the truck driving school itself. Consider the condition of the training equipment. The condition of the equipment can be a sign of how well the school takes care of its students. Also, Is the equipment out dated? Most major carrier use late model equipment. It will be a tough transition if you've learned on an old truck.
5. Career Centers and Workforce Service Locations
This is probably the least used but can be the best option for finding a quality truck driving school. Workforce service centers specialize in helping people find employment. They also know where you can go to get the training you need for the job you want. Workforce service centers only work with legitimate truck driving schools that have a positive reputation in the community, making this an excellent resource for finding a truck driving school.

Gaining Driving Confidence is Very Important
One of the most important aspects of learning to drive is gaining an all important sense of confidence. Note, however, that this is vitally different from arrogance or presumptuousness. Many drivers, immediately upon passing their tests, suddenly feel as if they can take on any situation.
They'll think nothing of immediately going out and driving long distances or in new and unfamiliar situations such as the highway or during a rainstorm, or at night. However, this confidence is very often unfounded, and results in the person becoming "overconfident" and getting into an accident. Instead of this overzealousness, what is really needed to be a good driver is a solid sense of the rules of the road, and an accurate knowledge of one's own ability to adhere to them.
One of the best ways to gain confidence as a driver then, is to receive profession driving instruction. When you learn to drive from a qualified professional, the grasp you will get on the rules of the road and on safe driving practices far exceeds that which you would gain through other means such as learning from a friend or family member. This isn't to say, of course, that your friends and family are unsafe drivers, it's just the case that only professional driving instructors can instill the immense degree of confidence in a driver that comes with total mastery of the road.
Getting behind the wheel can sometimes be a scary thing, to be sure. This is especially true when driving on the highway at high speeds or practicing certain maneuvers such as merging into a high speed lane. The real problem, though, is that nervousness in such situations leads to inaction, which can be dangerous. When you're driving, it's often the case that hesitating is just as dangerous to proceeding too recklessly. It's only with a calm and smooth sense of assurance that you can operate a vehicle at maximum effectiveness.
Of course, it goes without saying that having confidence in your driving isn't a permanent thing. Many drivers start out confident but then get into a collision or have a dangerous near miss that suddenly robs them of all their preconceptions of their ability. They might suddenly feel as if they're an unsafe driver and fear getting behind the wheel at all. When this happens, certain steps are needed, and chief among them is getting back on the road as soon as possible.
This is something else that a professional driving teacher can help you with. By refreshing you on the rules of the road, and renewing your ability to adhere to them consciously, driving coaches are often able to help people regain faith in their own driving ability, including those who have gone through some form of trauma.
Whether you're learning to drive for the first time and want your first solo drive to be one of supreme and total confidence, or you're trying to regain confidence that you once had, trust in a qualified driving coach to give you the self-assuredness that you need.

Defensive Driving - Six Important Professional Driving Techniques
At the heart of defensive driving is a driver's ability to anticipate situations, including the mistakes of other drivers, especially during less-than-ideal driving conditions.
You may be an excellent driver and a master of road rules, but there's nothing like a basic knowledge of defensive driving to minimize risks on the road.
Here are six of the most important defensive driving techniques:
1. Let other drivers know of your intentions early
Sudden stops, turns and lane changes often lead to accidents because they catch other drivers by surprise. Hence, one of the basic rules of defensive driving is to clearly communicate to other drivers exactly what you are about to do. For this reason, it is crucial that your brake lights, head lights, signal indicators and other driving lights are working. If they are not, have them checked right away. Otherwise, defensive driving is not an option.
2. Being predictable helps
Having all your indicators in good working order is great, but they won't help much if you can't be predictable. Defensive driving is synonymous with being predictable - you do what you're expected to do. If you're signaling a left turn, then make a left turn. Don't signal that you're going left then suddenly turn right. And, by no means, don't keep signaling a left or right turn then just going straight ahead for miles and miles. In defensive driving, one never makes a move that confuses other drivers on the road. Surprises are great, but never when you're driving.
3. Know where you want to go
The first rule of defensive driving is: know where you want to go. There's nothing quite as dangerous as making a sudden turn or stop, which is something that drivers do when they are not sure about where they are headed. Ditto for driving slowly then suddenly zooming fast. If you're confused about where you you want to go, you're probably confusing other people on the road as well. If you're lost, park your car and regain your bearings. Check a map or street directory or maybe even ask someone for directions. The worst thing you can do is drive around aimlessly. That's like looking for trouble with a capital T.
4. Make signaling a habit
One of the best defensive driving techniques is to signal every time you turn or change lanes. That way, you never catch other drivers by surprise. Make signaling a habit. Even if the road appears to be deserted and there seem to be no other vehicles around, signaling your intent is always an excellent defensive driving practice.
5. Warn others as you stop or slow down
When making a full stop or slowing down for whatever reason, it's a good defensive driving technique to let other drivers know of your intention. You can do this by tapping the brake pedal a couple of times so that your brake lights flash and clue in others behind you that you are slowing down or stopping. This is especially important if the driver behind you is driving fast and approaching quickly.
6. Try to anticipate the worst in others
It may sound cynical and 's not a good rule to follow in life but, in defensive driving, it pays to anticipate the mistakes of other drivers on the road. For instance, many drivers routinely signal a turn but don't turn at all. Meanwhile, others don't signal at all and then suddenly turn. Many people disregard stop signals or try to run red traffic lights so keep a watchful eye out for these instances.

Driving Lessons - It Just Makes Sense to Learn From a Professional
Driving an automobile on today's busy roads is one of the most important and most serious responsibilities young people have the privilege of taking on as they approach adulthood. When it comes to driving an automobile, the decisions a person takes and the attitudes they bring to driving will have a significant impact on their lives - from the social, economic, and safety points of view.
That is why deciding to take driving lessons is such an easy choice. Taking driving lessons right at the beginning of one's driving career will have far reaching consequences well into the future.
As with most things in life, the lessons you learn when just starting into an activity will usually set the tone for your later habits and practices. Most of the poor or dangerous habits you see in today's drivers stem from the lack of professional driver training at the outset of their driving careers.
Here are some of the most significant reasons why taking a professional driver training course is important for all beginning drivers:
First and foremost, taking professional driving lessons will greatly improve the novice driver's chances of staying safe and accident free. It is common knowledge that the first few month's of one's driving career can be the most dangerous. That is because this is the time when the new driver has the least experience and is most likely to make the wrong decision when confronted with a difficult situation. Professional training for beginning drivers emphasizes safety, caution, and familiarity with the rules of the road - the very things that can reduce the likelihood of accidents due to inexperience.
Second, a course of lessons at the start of a person's driving career will make the novice driver aware of the dangers of driving, and the expectations of other drivers. Doing this before actually getting on the road and driving will short-circuit the tendency to learn bad habits. Being under the watchful eye of a professional driving instructor will give the new driver the correct sort of attitude with respect to the rules of the road, the importance of defensive driving, and the consequences of careless or disrespectful driving.
And finally there is a number of important practical economic advantages in taking professional driving lessons. For one thing it will reduce the cost of car insurance for the new driver. In fact many insurance companies insist on a minimum number of lessons completed through a recognized driving school, before a young driver will be admitted onto a parent's policy.
For another thing learning to drive properly will save on car repairs. That applies not only to your own car, but also for the others you are likely to damage when you do not have adequate driving skills or experience.
All in all, there is simply no reason why anyone learning to drive should not relish the opportunity to take professional driving lessons. They will learn the right way, and will be thankful for that opportunity for the rest of their lives.

Get Paid To Drive? Try One of These Professional Driving Careers
Do you love, love, love to drive? If so, you may be interested in a career as a professional driver. The list includes quite a few opportunities and as long as you meet the requirements, e.g., have an excellent driving record, current license and pass any required testing, you’d be a good candidate. And in a lot the instances, you can actually start your own service company and be your own boss.
Limo Driver
Limo drivers are an especially good option for people who like people. They usually make a standard rate and when allowed, can also receive gratuities. Keep in mind that most limo drivers need to be ‘on-call’ and ready to roll at a moment’s notice and all are required to hold a special license. In addition to the usual prom, airport, wedding and events fares, there are also opportunities for ‘personal’ drivers who work specifically for one individual or firm. And if you ever decide to purchase you own limo, you obviously aren’t obligated to any one other than yourself, your customers and Uncle Sam.
Taxi-Cab Drivers
Because you never know who you’re going to get as a passenger, another driving profession that would probably be more pleasing to a ‘people person’ is a taxi cab driver. Taxi driving can be quite lucrative if you’re in a well populated area, and even more so if you own your own cab. Just know that the hours can tend to be very long and erratic. Also, a special license and registration is required for this type of driving.
Truck Drivers
The amount of opportunities for professional truck drivers has gone through the roof over the past few years – and they are pretty diversified as well. If you have the opportunity to drive a delivery or service industry truck, and especially if you’re considering the prospect of driving the ‘big rigs’, you will need to take a CDL certification test (different classes/levels depending on the job) obtain the required class of license and be willing to submit to period testing. Long-haul semi drivers usually benefit from a higher income than short-haul or delivery/service truck drivers, but have to be the type of person who is willing to be away from home for extended amounts of time, and on a regular basis.
Valet
Valet opportunities are mainly part-time as compared full-time. But if you are in the right place, you can make quite a pretty penny considering base pay and tips. A lot of younger valets sometimes think that this type of work is a free-for-all, but know that you will be completely responsible for the owner’s car when in your possession. In addition to the prospect of a good salary, you may also enjoy the diversity involved in the opportunity to drive different types of vehicles on a regular basis.
Auto-Auctions and Car Dealerships
A professional driving career can also be obtained by working through an auto auction or car dealership. The cars on these lots need to be moved around on a consistent basis and can provide the opportunity for diversity in the driving experience as well.
Race Car Driver
Now this is obviously a career that requires extensive training and outstanding skill. But if you’ve got the ‘right stuff’, you can do very well for yourself financially in addition to possibly obtaining a claim to fame. In addition to the high level of ability required, obtaining sponsorship is the other important aspect to moving forward in this career. Once a sponsor agrees to subsidize you, the driver will be required to represent that company or individual and of course be given the privilege of driving that corresponding race car.

Working With a Professional Driving School
When you are preparing for your UK driving test, the easiest way to do it is to combine lessons from a professional driving school with tuition from friends or family.
This will give you the experience you need on the road, as well as being the most cost-effective solution.
While learning from relatives can be cheaper, it can mean that you can pick up any bad habits they have developed through years of driving. It can also put a bit of strain on any relationships.
An instructor from a professional driving school is trained to recognise any weaknesses you may have in your driving. They are also experienced in coaching people to pass their test. In fact, as well as practical tips, a driving instructor will be able to offer advice for your theory and hazard perception tests.
Many professional driving schools offer a discount if you book blocks of lessons upfront. Simply put, the more lessons you book at once, the less it costs per lesson.
Further discounts are available for students preparing for their UK driving test.
Of course, before you take any driving lessons, you have to apply for your provisional driving licence.
You can do this by completing the D1 form, which is available from the DVLA or the local post office. You can also fill in the form online.
Once you have a valid provisional driving licence, you can sit the theory and hazard perception elements of the UK driving test, as well as book lessons from a professional driving school.
Whatever stage you are at, whether you are about to sit your driving test or you are a complete novice, you can get more advice that will help your driving.
Robert Yates is a highly experienced writer and motorist. He has written a wide range of articles about driving, answering many questions about professional driving schools.

New Shape Range Rover's Used Buyers Guide
The engine department currently has the 4.0 & 4.6 specifications in house, these are reliable units but still thirsty for fuel consumption. The 0-60 performance is impressive at 9 seconds for a vehicle in excess of 2 tonnes. The standard Land Rover ladder chassis is still utilised however it is much wider and includes crash cans to absorb frontal impact and these also work with sensors to operate the airbag systems. The six cylinder BMW diesel differs from the saloon car unit with a modified sump to allow for off-road use and the extreme angles encountered. The diesel unit will obviously give improved fuel consumption but at a cost of restricted performance in comparison to the V8.
On the automatic gearbox there is a single gear selector that utilises a large H-gate to select high & low ranges. There is no diff lock as the viscous coupling locks the centre diff automatically when conditions demand. Add the traction control available on most models and you have an off-road vehicle with great capabilities.
Currently the market for a brand new off-road vehicle with a price tag of a luxury vehicle is limited with very few people willing to fulfill its potential. As pre-owned vehicle prices fall I can see more and more New Range Rovers at more off-road events and competitive trials especially as Air Suspension is the most significant new feature of the model (the system that was perfected and supplied with the LSE Range Rover Classic).
The intricate electrics and electronics make the New Range Rover substantially different from previous models as all sorts of electronic gadgets are fitted as standard. This includes memory seats, sat-nav and a central ECU located under the drivers seat that controls and monitors virtually everything. Appropriate software is required for faults diagnostics and is a service usually only available from a main dealer and some independents.
Before thinking about buying a Used New Range Rover you must ensure that all electrics are in perfect working order. The heating system can throw up common faults and this could be a simple repair of the heater blender motors that can take 7-8 hours workshop time to replace.
With the current Global market conditions there has never been a better time to buy a pre-owned/used Range Rover with massive savings on Forecourt prices. If you're looking to buy a used Range Rover please visit http://www.americanautobid.com/blog/ & visit the shop with large selection of Range Rovers for sale.

The Best Range Rover Ever Built
For the model year 2007, Range Rover is given a brand new diesel, Terrain Response, fascia, interior, trim and dashboard, instrumentation, electronic parking brake, cooled seats, revised stereo, a whole new set of exciting vehicle features. The latest Land Rover Range Rover parts include the V8 diesel engine, which is one of the world's most advanced. Compared to the 6-cylinder diesel engine, V8 is more powerful yet has the same fuel economy.
"The TDV8 diesel is a great new engine, to power one of the world’s great vehicles – the most complete luxury 4x4," says Land Rover managing director Phil Popham. "Its balance of performance, refinement and economy is unmatched. We believe it makes the Range Rover an even more desirable vehicle, especially in strong diesel markets, and will appeal to many customers who’ve never considered a diesel before."
"Compared with the outgoing Range Rover diesel, the new engine is up to 75 per cent quieter, a huge improvement," says Al Kammerer, product development director for Land Rover. "In both qualitative and quantitative measures, the new diesel is very similar to the V8 petrol engine – a tremendous achievement." The noise level of the new Range Rover is reduced. Noises are dampened by a comprehensive acoustic system to ensure that extraneous noises are avoided.
The performance of the vehicle is likened to excellent sport cars while its fuel efficiency level is like that of petrol saloon cars. Popham added, "Yet the new Range Rover delivers so much more – great comfort, huge carrying capacity, awesome off-road capability and massive towing ability, all with exemplary refinement."
The Terrain Response feature of Range Rover enhances its on-road and off-road capabilities while reducing driver effort. Terrain Response is a patented technology of the automaker. It allows driver to select one out of 5 terrain settings through a rotary control. Range Rover suspension settings and brakes have been upgraded to match the TDV8. Also, the electronic park brake replaced the hand brake lever in the centre console area.
These features plus significant enhancements made all-new Range Rover stand out from other luxury sport utility vehicles available today. "The most complete luxury 4x4 in the world is now even better," concluded Phil Popham.

Range Rover Unveils Brand New Twin-turbo V8
Enthusiasts are saying that they like Range Rover’s unrivaled image, domineering off-road ability, luxurious cabin, and its brand new engine. Range Rover’s new engine is Ford’s new 3.6 L AJD-V8. Said engine can generate up to 272 horsepower and 184 lb ft torque, far better than its previous engine. EPA has given the Range Rover a gas mileage rating of 13/18 mpg in city/highway. Other adaptations and enhancements of the latest model include enhanced Range Rover parts and accessories.
The interior of the new model is made more elegant and sophisticated. Rover’s pool of designers incorporated an efficient, pollen-filtered air conditioning to detach occupants from surrounding odors. Sound deadening technology and innovations such as active engine mounts are also integrated to the vehicle to make it quieter than its older versions. Supercharged Rovers will use electronic rear differential. Further, optional cooled front seats and extra loading capabilities were also considered by the automaker to come up with said high-performance vehicle.
2007 model is also equipped with better Range Rover brakes and suspension. A stiffer suspension is designed to cope with the extra performance of the vehicle. Moreover, it is also fitted to the petrol V8 model. Said vehicle also uses Rover’s Terrain Response system from the Discovery 3. The latter is responsible for making the bulky and rugged exterior of the vehicle intact. The system allows the driver to control everything from throttle response to ride height.
This can be done by choosing one from the 5 settings through a single rotary control.
The automaker is expecting that Range Rover will compete well with the renowned vehicles in the segment like Audi Q7, BMW X5, Mercedes ML and Volkswagen Touareg.

A Nudge Bar is another popular accessory for the Rover. The Nudge Bar was originally designed to make the Rover more "pedestrian friendly," but is also a great accessory for pushing another vehicle, or a large fallen object (such as a tree) off the road.
And for the real off-road Rover enthusiast, a Winch Bumper accessory kit is absolutely necessary. The standard ARB-type Wench Bumper has saved many Rover users stuck in a swamp or mud hole. With plenty of torque and power, the Rover wench can help you or a friend out of just about any jam you can get into in off-road driving situations.
Other great accessories for your off-road Range Rover include cargo nets, aluminum sand ladders, and of course, auxiliary lighting and lamp protectors.

The Range Rover Mean Machine
Do you have a passion for four by four vehicles like the Range Rover? Love the roar of their engines. The Range Rover from Land Rover can make the perfect car for any special occasion like a wedding or birthday and can give the perfect first impression for many things including business meetings. Very rarely seen on the street because the quality this cars exudes and the price tag it comes with put the car out of the league of many who desire it. Unlike many of its rivals the Range Rover, much like the Bentley Continental GT and the Maybach can be considered to be a car to be driven in.
This car is so popular that even the illustrious royal head of our state, Queen Elizabeth II owns one of these cars and even a lesser know professional Chef and TV presenter, Jamie Oliver. If it's good enough for him then you should have one too!!
The Range Rover from £58,695 on the road is an amazing car is complemented by its sister model, the Range Rover Sport. The Range Rover Sport starts from 38,495 on the road price which seems like a very appealing price. When purchasing either one of the cars in this range you can be comfortably reassured in the knowledge that not many people will be able to afford or even contemplate buying the same car. Although you can be reassured of the price of this car, you can purchase should you so wish on a finance plan such as hire purchase, contract hire, corporate purchase or lease hire. Such finance options are available direct through Land Rover.
Although this will mean, in the case of hire purchase, that the car will not actually be fully owned by you until you have completed your repayments, this option does give the added advantage of not having to layout out huge amounts of cash, which could be put to better use, at the outset.
In both the Range Rover and the Range Rover Sport various models are available, only the finest leather and materials are used to finish the interiors. In addition to all the various standard safety features available there are a number of optional extras available including knee air bags for the driver and passengers.
The most unique thing about this car is the fact that the carbon emissions for the first 45,000 miles that the car goes through are offset by Land Rover's provider Climate Care. So for the first 45,000 miles you can actually rest assured that you are not actually (technically speaking)causing any extra harm to the environment.
The Range Rover or Range Rover Sport are a excellent choice for any individual who wants that extra special feeling when driving, you can be proud of yourself when driving this car safe in the knowledge that you have worked hard to get it.

Short Take - 2009 Infiniti G37 Convertible
For the record, the G37 convertible's official debut won't take place until this November at the prestigious Los Angeles Auto Show. That hasn't stopped parent Nissan Motors from sharing tidbits about its newest model in a bid to drum up interest and to measure demand.
What We Know About The G37 Convertible
Like the coupe, the convertible will benefit from several new Infiniti features, updates which will certainly appeal to avid enthusiasts:
A VQ37VHR "VVEL" 3.7-liter V6 rated at 328 horsepower.
A 7-speed automatic transmission. Optionally, drivers can select a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission.
G37x AWD model with advanced ATESSA E-TS(TM) all-wheel drive system.
New sport 18-inch wheel design.
Scratch Shield paint (self-healing clearcoat finish) is now standard.
Though the convertible won't go on sale until well into the 2009 model year, the standard coupe will be available for sale in September 2008.
A Uniquely Designed Roof
Perhaps the most significant feature of the G37 convertible will be its roof. It will feature a fully automatic 3-piece folding top, a design which provides a coupe-like silhouette and all-weather protection when up, or open-air motoring when in the down position. The one picture of the convertible circulated by Infiniti thus far shows the car with its roof down. However, Nissan says that the convertible will complement the coupe's lines so what will be on display at the auto show this November will likely do justice to the G37 theme.
What This Means For You
With the coupe retailing just north of $36,000, you can expect the convertible to sell for around $40,000 while offering the same class competing amenities found in the coupe.
